Deirdre Baggot has more than two decades of experience working as both a hospital executive and clinician. She is considered an innovator in the area of bundled payments as a result of her leaderships with CMS ACE or Acute Care Episode. She has written more than twenty papers on on the subjects of healthcare reform and bundled payments. Her views and opinions are respected by many.
Deirdre Baggot is a graduate of Southern Illinois University where she earned her degree in nursing. Baggot later became a graduate of Loyola University’s Quinlan School of Business where she earned her MBA. Just a few years later Baggot continued her education by earning a Ph.D from the University of Colorado in Denver. Soon after graduation she began her career working for the Northwestern Memorial Hospital. At this position she gained valuable experience working as a manager of the hospital’s administration group. Baggot’s career is full of notable leaderships positions. After working at Northwestern Memorial she transition to a position at one of the nations most prestigious medical centers. Baggot joined the University of Michigan Health System where she worked as a a business analyst and an administrative manager. Just a few years later she moved to Colorado where she gained experience working with the Cardiac and Vascular Institute. Perhaps her most notable position would come later when she got a position at GE Healthcare Partners in Los Angeles. At this position Baggot managed more than 500 employees and worked on projects that produced millions of dollars in annual revenue.
Deirdre Baggot has been featured by a number of major companies and publications. She has been a featured guest/expert on shows like “All Things Considered” and “Planet Money.” She became an expert reviewer for both CMS and Bundled Payments Models two through four. She has served in multiple leadership roles in the healthcare world and is often called upon to give her expert opinion.
