There aren’t many career fields that will enable practitioners to work with advanced science as well as with their hands. Those dual interests were how the future Dr. Sameer (“Sam”) Jejurikar developed an interest in surgery while still in junior high. After graduating with distinction from the University of Michigan he earned his doctorate from the university’s medical school. It’s here that Dr. Jejurikar was drawn to the creative possibilities of plastic surgery. Today, he runs his own plastic surgery practice as part of the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, one of the largest plastic surgery groups in the world.
Doctor and Entrepreneur
Dr. Jejurikar most enjoys his ability to make dramatic change in the lives of his patients. He’s most impressed with advancements in the practice that enable him to perform difference-making aesthetic changes to the face without surgery. He thinks that techniques such as Botox and injectable dermal fillers can restore youthful appearance with minimal downtime. He’s also joined charitable international trips to perform cleft palate and plastic surgeries for the severely underprivileged. In his position at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, the doctor feels that he’s both part of a bigger enterprise and responsible for his own financial well-being. He says that one critical key to his success is his commitment to compensating his people well. He’s also learned to read balance sheets and pay attention to business expenses.
Dr. Jejurikar strives to maintain maximum productivity whenever he can. There might be no better example of this commitment than one of his favorite recent purchases: a clock for his shower. It keeps him on schedule even during his most vulnerable of times. Read More.
